Downtown Deli in Cortland

Outstanding sub and sandwich shop with many other things on the menu. The staff was awesome and handled the evening rush very well.

Food is decent but really nothing special. The prices are definitely higher than they should be for the amount of meat on the sandwiches. Was really hoping for a proper New York deli experience and this was not it.

I come here fairly often for lunch between classes. The food is great and the place has a good atmosphere but I do think it's a little bit pricey. Most of the staff is very friendly as well.

I stop in there once in awhile and always enjoy the food. The service is great. Always treated me nice. I saw they were doing a free meal for veterans day. I am a veteran and enjoyed a meal on them thank you deli

Extremely disappointed in our visit, while waiting in line the employees behind the counter were fooling around and half parking attention. The young gentleman was so distracted he stopped the couples order in front of us, forgot what he was doing and went to the next customer. The young lady making my sandwich the Broadway, put four small strips of Port a Bella on it and about 12 strips of red pepper until I said something. The young lady while working on order spent the next 11 minutes making our order while she fooled around with the gentleman behind the counter. We love Downtown Deli, but the rudeness and poor service of the staff were remarkable.

Food is good but is kind of Prententious. Prices are higher than one would expect after you are done.

Big shout out to the Deli Downtown in Cortland. They saw us waiting outside for quite a long time for another restaurant pick up order and they came out with a fresh cookie and a grilled cheese sandwich to “hold us over” until our food came. We offered money and they declined to accept. What a great gesture ♥️ The sandwich and the cookie were DELICIOUS!!

Great NYC style deli in the Crown City, Cortland, NY. Highest elevation of any city in the state has a deli as good as its lofty central sate location.

Decor: old school cafeteria style which is family friendly Food options: variety of sandwiches for vegetarians Taste: Last time I went, I got a wrap mixed with sautéed veggies which was pretty good Price: I got a custom order and it was on the more expensive side for a simple order I got Customer Service: Staff is friendly but they could be more welcoming when customers first arrive Overall: I do recommend for they have plenty to offer for you’re next visit

One of my favorite places for grabbing a bite to eat. Super selection, high quality sandwich shop. Catering experience has always been top-notch for me as well. Definitely recommend.

I ordered a hot sandwich and it was cold and my smoothie was warm and was like drinking water. For over $20 I expect better. And delivery girl was very rude

Excellent sandwich! My first one at this place. The manager has a lot of common sense and a great, kind, personality. I chatted with her - she was the person who made my great, flavorful, sandwich near closing time - she filled in during a busy time on behalf of the workers and establishment. Fine person...

Amazing amount of food... the Orange Pack was the best.

I love this place for the sandwiches, they know how to make exactly what I like. We also use this place exclusively at work for catering. Everything they make is extremely delicious. The pulled pork from their catering menu is phenomenal - my entire office gets excited when they hear pulled pork will be coming for the next meeting. The DD team is very friendly and helpful when you're trying to determine what to order for your next catering event. Definitely don't forget to order the cookie tray.

Love going here for lunch when I am out and about. Great food and I love the wraps and paninis.

Nice place, seems fairly clean and the staff is nice, only reason they aren't getting 5 stars is because the sandwiches are severely lacking in meat. Flavor is good and the price is fine, but come on, load that sandwich up.

Best subs in cortland.

About a month ago this review would have been at least 4 stars, but some things changed. I started to frequent this place as i enjoyed the food and staff but they stopped carrying roasted red peppers and worse lied to their customers about it. When I called I was told that they were just out of stock, but when i returned was told they don’t carry them anymore. How any deli can stop carrying this item is beyond me, but especially one with thousands of Long Island imports every year who would love nothing more than a taste of home with an italian style deli. I will return once red peppers are back in stock, but until then my business will be elsewhere

Things are starting to open again

If you want awesome sandwiches and subs this is the place to go. They have a great variety of combinations and allow you to customize everything. This is an excellent stop to make while downtown in cortland on the weekend or during the middle of the day.

My hubs and I enjoy visiting when in town for lunch! White chicken chili is the bomb

Great staff great food

I've visited for lunch each time I was in town. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is delicious and plentiful... A half sandwich is all I've ever needed to be full. It can get busy during the lunch rush, but the line moves quickly. The sandwich games are usually quirky, such as the Albuquerque Turkey

Great selection of sandwiches, wraps, and more. The Prima Donna sandwich is my personal favorite. Busy place usually but multiple people making sure the line moves at a steady pace. Great place to eat in or take your food to go when you have a quick lunch break.

I love going here for lunch! The sandwiches are amazing and the prices are great too! I usually like to order via GrubHub and pick it up. It's a great place to bring family and friends and the people are very nice. The deli is a local favorite for lunch and dinner.

Really big really good sandwiches. Prices are getting up there but you sorta get what you pay for. Always clean friendly atomsphere. Certainly a super place to go occasionally.

Yummy food and good size too!

It's a great place to meet people, grab lunch and visit in the heart of downtown. Plenty of signature sandwiches to try with the option of creating your own. They have various different breads, meats, and toppings to choose from.

By far the best restaurant I've ate at in the area my entire life. I don't know why I didn't try it years ago. We visited 3 times while we were here visiting family for a week. They've got a list of specialty sandwiches and all three I tried were very good and very satisfying. In fact this is where I will go from now on when I'm visiting.
